Sonoran Sky Elementary prides itself in offering its students a wide variety of opportunities to pursue individual areas of interest before and after school.

Some of the activities that our students enjoy include Student Council (grades 1-6), Band (grades 4-6), Strings (grades 5-6), and Chorus (grades 4-6).

In addition, students are eligible to sign up for a wide variety of special interest classes sponsored by the Sonoran Sky PTO and the District's Community Education Department.

Registration Information

  • 1 completed form per student should be submitted to the school office no later than August 26th.

  • Kindly complete the entire registration form, especially parent signature, allergy and pick-up information, for registration to be completed. Class spots will not be held and forms will be returned if information is missing.

Class Information

  • No A.M. or P.M. classes are held on ½ days, teacher-conference week or any scheduled NO SCHOOL days unless noted under class description.

  • Morning classes are held 7:50 – 8:50 a.m. Afternoon classes are held 3-4 p.m.

  • Should any class need to be cancelled, a make-up date will be planned and communicated to parents by the individual instructor.

Enrichment Guidelines

  • Please make arrangements for siblings of students participating in enrichment courses. No siblings are allowed in the building unattended and/or without a parent during courses.

  • K-2 students will receive name tags and be escorted by volunteers and staff directly to their enrichment classrooms the first week of the session to help eliminate concerns of where to go their first class. Many classes are held in rooms they are already familiar with during the regular day (art room, P.E. room, regular classrooms…).

  • Enrichment students are expected to follow school rules in class.

Payment/Refund Policy

  • A $12 fee will be added for any returned check payments.

  • There will be no pro-rating on any late registrations and fees must be handled prior to the beginning of classes.

  • No refunds will be available due to class withdrawal.

Dismissal/Pick-Up Policy

Enrichment courses begin promptly after school dismissal at 3 p.m. and end promptly at 4 p.m. At the end of course time, the respective instructor will first accompany any Mascot Club students to Thunderbird Hall and then accompany the rest of the class to the front of the school near the flagpole for parent pick-up. To ensure the safe dismissal of our students given the size of our program, COURSE INSTRUCTORS WILL DISMISS STUDENTS TO PARENTS ONCE THEY’VE SIGNED THEIR CHILD OUT ON THE APPROPRIATE FORM. No child will be left unattended. Children will not be allowed to walk or bike home by themselves or with a sibling.

Parents are requested to pick up children promptly at 4 p.m. Picking up a child after 4 p.m. will be considered a late pick-up. A second late pick-up will result in the child’s removal from the course and no refund will be issued.

  • Parents should not enter the building prior to the end of enrichment classes. Please wait at the flagpole area for dismissal.

  • If your child attends Mascot Club, please inform your Mascot teacher about the days/dates your child will be arriving late to Mascot Club due to attendance in after-school classes.

We appreciate your promptness at drop-off and pick-up, as does your child and the instructor.

Morning Classes

  • All morning classes run from 7:50 – 8:50 a.m.

  • Due to safety issues, parents and students must enter school through the front door by the flagpole and walk together to the assigned room where parents must sign-in their child for each enrichment class.

  • If your child attends early morning Mascot Club, please inform your Mascot Teacher about the days/dates your child will be attending morning enrichment classes and what time they must be escorted to their enrichment course.
